In 2016, Samoa recorded a high rate of adult obesity at almost 46%.

A food data analysis collected in 2018 in the Samoa Household Income and Expenditure  Survey shows less than 1 person out of 20 is undernourished, the same survey has also revealed that about 1 person in 4 does not have access to safe and nutritious food.

A report by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization states it places one quarter of the population at greater risk of various forms of malnutrition and poor health.
