[ARTICLE] SPC Women in Fisheries Bulletin_Valuing critical roles and contributions of women fishers_2020

This article describes the first attempt to quantify the economic role of indigenous women fishers in Fiji. For years the contribution of indigenous women fishers had never been considered as having any economic value, yet there continues to be a growing presence of women fishers trading in informal seafood markets. Here we discuss the findings of our survey covering 11 of the 14 provinces of Fiji.
