Vanilla Technical Session | Vanilla Curing : 1 – 2 months : In-Box Conditioning

Goal 1 : to finish the vanilla curing process

Goal 2 : ensure vanilla is mould free

Warning : Do not store the beans in smokey rooms or in sheds with kerosene or gasoline spills, or in trunks with moth balls because it will contaminate the beans

Tools : (1) grease-proof paper (2) hardwood boxes with airtight lids (3) shelves (4) a well ventilated dry room

Process 

(1) Line the boxes with grease-proof paper and tightly fill the box with bundles of beans

(2) Once the box is full, cover with more grease-proof paper and an airtight lid

(3) Keep vanilla for 1 to 2 months before selling/exporting

(4) Once a week check for mold.
