Pacific Farmer Organisations has released a new policy brief ahead of the Pacific Island Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) in Tonga next week. The policy brief entitled ‘Farmers and the Heart of Pacific 2050: Ensuring Food Security and Sustainability’ describes the critical role farmers and their organsiations play in realising the vision of Pacific Island Leaders. The policy brief also call for a review of how the existing regional architecture supports (or not) farmers; what needs to change so that the contribution of farmers to Pacific 2050 is strengthened?
