Through the partnership between the Government of Kiribati, the Government of Australia (DFAT), the International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD), Live & Learn (L&L), The Pacific Community (SPC), Change for Getting Things Started (C4GTS) and the Hawaii Farm to School Network (HF2SN) the inaugural Pacific Atoll Food Summit (PAFS) took place from 13 to 16 October in Tarawa, Kiribati.
The objectives of the event were to –
1) Amplify Atoll Voices: Share practical experiences, challenges, and innovations from farmers and communities in atoll nations.
2) Regenerate Soils and Food Systems: Equip participants with tools and practices for restoring soil health and improving climate- esilient food production.
3) Build Alliances for Food Futures: Strengthen regional collaboration on Farm-to-School initiatives, youth engagement, and long-term food security planning in atoll contexts.
