Farmer Organisations in the Pacific are constantly striving to make agriculture attractive, inspiring and sustainable in the training of young men and women!
Fiji’s Tutu Rural Training Centre is transforming family farming through soil health, seed saving, analyzing value chain and local vegetable, spice and crop production to help farmers transform their lives from being a subsistence affluence into farming as business.
Principal Director, Father Petero Matairatu and Human Resources Co-ordinator, Serenia Madigibuli say while the future looks bright for agriculture, understanding the basic concepts of operating a business will be critical moving forward.
The Green Pillars series in partnership with Pacific Farmer Organisations was funded by the Farmers’ Organizations for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific- fo4acp programme.
