October 2025
Gleno, Timor Leste – October 20th, 2025 –The International PermaYouth Convergence (IPYC–2025) was a six-day celebration of permaculture, arts, culture, and music, bringing together young people from across the globe. This inaugural convergence was inspired by the highly successful PermaYouth movement in Timor-Leste and aimed to strengthen a global network of youth leaders committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable futures.
Held in Remexio, in the mountains above Dili, the convergence gathered youth delegates aged 17 to 35 years, alongside community leaders, from six continents. Participants camped onsite and engaged in hands-on permaculture practice, knowledge exchange, cultural sharing, and dialogue, fostering friendships and long-term connections within a growing global PermaYouth network.
The Pacific Farmer Organisations (PFO) were represented by three youth delegates, who participated in the convergence on behalf of Pacific farmers and youth. Their participation ensured Pacific perspectives, experiences, and traditional knowledge were shared and amplified within this international forum.
